ZEISS ANZ is hailing the 2023 RANZCO Congress in Perth a success, describing it as a valuable opportunity for the company to connect with attendees from across the region and showcase its latest technology.
On the booth, the ZEISS portfolio shared centre stage with live presenters, who attracted large crowds as they shared their insights into various topics, ranging from optimising outcomes in laser vision correction to streamlining cataract workflows with the aid of digital solutions. The expert presenters included Professor Dan Reinstein, Dr Robert Paul, Dr Florian Kretz and ZEISS’s own Ms Rebecca Pott.
Elsewhere attendees were taking advantage of the opportunity to get hands-on experience with two new products launched at the congress; the ATLAS 500 Corneal Topographer and VISULAS COMBI, a recent addition to the ZEISS therapeutic laser portfolio.
An appetite to further explore connected workflow solutions that are able to connect devices, data and applications, was apparent throughout the meeting, the company stated.
On the booth the fully connected ZEISS Cataract workflow allowed attendees to replicate the treatment journey, from procedural planning with the IOL Master 700 and EQ Workplace through to surgical intervention with QUATERA 700 phacoemulsification, the ARTEVO 800 Microscope and comprehensive ZEISS IOL portfolio.
“The meeting represented an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the ZEISS Corneal Refractive Workflow, including those who attended the lunchtime symposium, hosted by Prof Reinstein, which explored the growing role of PRESBYOND in treating patients with presbyopia,” the company stated.
Saturday evening saw a full house in attendance for the ZEISS hosted dinner as Professor Paul Mitchell, Dr Jane Khan and Professor Pearse Keane (UK) delved into the topic of ‘decision making in retinal disease’. The event explored the capacity for technical advances, such as OCT angiography, to assist in diagnosing retinal disease and uncovered the potential for AI to play a role in the not-too-distant future.
Having the Practice Manager and Orthoptics Australia meetings running concurrently with RANZCO also represented an opportunity to connect with ZEISS partners from across the country.
“ZEISS would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the attendees who came to visit us on the booth or joined our concurrent activities. We now look forward to the 55th RANZCO meeting in Adelaide next year,” the company added.
