Zeiss has introduced a new cloud-based image viewing and collaboration tool to help facilitate cohesive care between primary and tertiary eyecare providers.
In an ageing population with an increased disease burden, the company says clinicians are seeking ways to redefine collaborative care protocols and streamline the screening, management and referral of chronic eye diseases presenting in already busy clinics.
In some cases, historical patient data collected on various modalities must be safely and securely sent between sites when making disease management and referral decisions.
To ensure efficiency in these processes and adoption into daily workflow, Zeiss has introduced the FORUM Cloud Viewer, a new cloud-based image viewing and collaboration tool allowing clinicians to:
- Access fundus images and reports anywhere via web browser.
- Improve patient care by sharing complex cases anytime with FORUM and non-FORUM users.
- Discuss cases in real time with a chat function.
- Securely and safely store FORUM data in an encrypted, cloud-based back up.
“By offering new subscription models for both the FORUM Data Management software and FORUM Cloud Viewer, Zeiss presents a more accessible and affordable solution to facilitate collaboration with fellow eyecare professionals in a safe, secure and streamlined manner,” the company stated.
