The 2025 RANZCO Congress in Melbourne has provided ZEISS with an opportunity to connect with eye health professionals from across Australia and New Zealand and highlight its continually evolving ophthalmic workflows, the company said.
It said one of the highlights of attending RANZCO this year was the ability to showcase its expanded retinal workflow portfolio. With the acquisition of DORC (Dutch Ophthalmic Research Center) in 2023, ZEISS said it was able to add a number of established surgical retinal solutions to its portfolio.
“One of the stand-out new products on show was the EVA NEXUS ophthalmic surgical system,” the company said.
“EVA NEXUS offers a range of features, such as Smart IOP; NEXUS LED Endoillumination and the new VELOCE cutter, all of which are focused on enhancing the procedural workflow for surgical retinal procedures.”
“Elsewhere in the ZEISS retina workflow,” the company added, “the CIRRUS OCT portfolio now supports AI guided OCT image assessment with the addition of the Pathfinder deep learning tool.”
According to ZEISS, this software streamlines the review of macular OCT scans by automatically identifying scans that may need closer review.
“With these new solutions working in harmony alongside the established retinal solutions such as the CLARUS 700, ARTEVO 850 with iOCT and ZEISS retina workplace, the expanded ZEISS retina workflow supports both routine and complex retinal patient management at all stages of the procedural workflow.”
