Last month the ZEISS skills development team held a full day of hands-on exposure to the Cataract Workflow at the Victoria Parade Surgery Centre (VPSC) in Melbourne.
Encompassing three interactive sessions on biometry, surgery skills and IOL/OVD/miLOOP, the nurses at VPSC and Victoria-based registrars learned how to better use devices and develop their surgical skills, ZEISS said.
The wetlab session offered a chance for the participants to discover and try the latest ZEISS innovations in cataract surgery, including the surgical planning tool EQ Workplace, ZEISS’s innovative phacoemulsification device the QUATERA 700 and the newly launched C-loop hydrophobic monofocal – CT LUCIA 621.
ZEISS said the clinical component of the event was boosted by Dr Georgia Cleary and Dr Rahul Chakrabarti joining for the day to present on a wide array of cataract topics. These sessions were warmly received by the attendees.
