The recent European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) Congress in Copenhagen saw ZEISS mark a significant milestone with 10 million cataract procedures performed globally using DORC VisionBlue.
“VisionBlue is a valuable asset in complex cataract surgery, trusted in over 80 countries worldwide and uniquely recognised as the sole FDA-approved trypan blue stain for anterior use in the USA,” the company said.
The ophthalmic dye solution has demonstrated high levels of purity, with comparative data from clinical and laboratory studies showing a trypan blue content of ≥96%, as well as the lowest recorded levels of monoazo dye impurities among those samples tested, ¹ ZEISS said.
“To ensure these high standards are maintained, DORC conducts batch-level high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) testing and provides certificates of analysis for every lot,” the company said.
