Registrations for Vision Eye Institute’s (VEI) first webinar in its SHARED VISION national webinar series are open.
The series, set to begin on 20 March, has been curated based on feedback from past webinars and will “provide plenty of clinical pearls to use in practice”.
Additionally, registration for the series is complimentary.
“We would like to thank our sponsors, CSL Seqirus and Vision Hospital Group, for their support,” VEI said.
The first webinar will focus on technology, AI and the eye and feature presentations from renowned ophthalmologists Dr Alex Ioannidis, Dr Lewis Levitz and A/Prof Michael Lawless.
“Keep your finger on the pulse of innovation in ophthalmology and optometry as we explore the future of eyecare technology,” VEI said.
Ioannidis is a comprehensive anterior segment surgeon and will discuss AI and the future challenges in assessing the cataract patient.
Levitz is a cataract and reconstructive eye surgeon who also treats general eye conditions and will explore the link between radiation exposure and eye disease in medical imaging.
Lawless is a highly experienced refractive surgeon with significant expertise in cataract and corneal surgery. He will discuss the now and near future for cataract and corneal refractive surgery and what to do with AI.
Moderator Ms Kristina Iacovangelo, a clinical optometrist and the clinical relationships manager at VEI for Victoria, will use her optometric expertise to ask pertinent questions and facilitate a Q&A session between the ophthalmologists and the audience.
The webinar is quality assured by Optometry Australia with 1.5 CPD hours awarded following attendance, while Australian Orthoptic Board CPD approval has been applied for.
