Started in response to pandemic-related restrictions and now a popular annual CPD event, Vision Eye Institute’s SHARED VISION national webinar series is returning on 29 March.
Based on optometrists’ feedback from last year, the theme for 2023 is: ‘Developing more effective communication, time management and diagnosis’.
The first webinar in the series features Dr Alex Ioannidis and Dr Christolyn Raj, who will focus on managing cataracts in patients with co-existing conditions such as corneal scarring and macular disease.
The audience will also get an opportunity to look at cases from the perspective of a neuro-ophthalmologist, presented by Dr Rushmia Karim.
Even as Vision Eye Institute’s face-to-face learning opportunities return to normal, its SHARED VISION webinars continue to be well-attended, said Ms Sasha Kairouz, clinical relationships and education manager.
“Optometrists definitely appreciate the convenience of online learning, but I think it goes further than that. We have some of Australia’s most experienced ophthalmologists on our national team and optometrists appreciate being able to access this wealth of knowledge, regardless of their location,” she said.
Registration for the first webinar is now open.
Optometrists who can’t attend live and wish to access the webinar recordings can join SHARED VISION, Vision Eye Institute’s free online educational network.
The recordings (including from past webinars), key learning points and full list of Q&As are exclusively available to members. There is also on-demand access to a variety of self-directed learning resources, including case studies, articles, podcasts and videos.
