US state postpones vote on law to permit optometrists to do surgery

Originally scheduled for 24 April, the debate and vote have been postponed until a future date yet to be determined.Introduced last month by Republican Representative Frank Hoffman, the bill has already passed the Louisiana House Committee on Health and Welfare, 12 votes to 7 on 17 April.If approved by the House, the bill will then be debated and voted on by the Louisiana State Senate Health and Welfare Committee and then the Louisiana State Senate.
