Eyes Right Optical will be launching a new eyewear collection from Danish brand Kilsgaard to the Australian and New Zealand market at O-Show in Sydney this week.
Ms Lisa Wymond, Eyes Right Optical’s national brands manager, said the Denmark-based brand has focused its attention on three key principles and three raw materials.
According to Kilsgaard, all its frames are created from prime titanium, aluminium, stainless steel or acetates.
“It’s felt on every surface, in every detail and in the sheer uniqueness of every frame. Kilsgaard is quality without compromises,” the brand said.
“We see power in reduction — letting raw materials and minimalist choices speak for themselves.”
It describes its collection as confident yet understated.
“Kilsgaard is the clean-cut and confident choice, that is still subtle and understated. To us, the design and the materials should be able to speak for themselves — without any excess. Pure design pieces. Nothing more, nothing less.”
Kilsgaard’s new collection consists of three different directions.
The Acetate collection is made entirely from prime Japanese acetates, from front to temples.
“Material richness coupled with extra volume enable you to truly feel the acetate — its smooth surface and its unique patterns or structures. The structural complexity of the material creates extraordinary patterns and refined tones of colour, but also exquisite surface tactility,” Kilsgaard said.
“You’ll see and feel the difference right away. Combined with double barrel hinges and sophisticated details such as the tinfoil dragonfly in the end tips, you’ll get a piece of eyewear that is quite simply unique. It comes in a variety of colours ranging from classic to more daring tones.”
The Titanium collection is made from high quality titanium with the nosepad slightly embossed with thin lines and the brand’s dragonfly logomark.
The collection comes in three metallic colorways that are purely galvanic — the most durable way of colouring titanium.
The Aluminum collection features a range of frames made from anodised aluminum, a process securing an exclusive and deep colouring of the raw material.
“Anodisation doesn’t only ensure high durability with minimal risk of peeling and scratching — it also creates a sleek and uniquely smooth surface. While it comes with many benefits, anodisation also limits choice of colour, resulting in a narrow and precise colour range. Combined with Italian acetate end tips and stainless-steel hinges, these are exclusive and timeless frames,” Kilsgaard said.
