The Australian Vision Convention (AVC), returning on 6-7 April in a hybrid format, will feature innovative workshops and a robust clinical program designed to “enrich the knowledge and skills of optometrists”.
Taking place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday, AVC is organised and hosted by Optometry Queensland Northern Territory (OQNT), which hopes to deliver an “exceptional experience for both in-person and virtual attendees”.
“AVC 2024 will feature world-renowned experts offering insights into cutting-edge practices, therapeutics, clinical skills and equipment knowledge. Attendees can expect a diverse range of lectures and workshops tailored to enhance their expertise and proficiency in the field of optometry,” OQNT president, Ms Fiona Moore, said.
The CPD program, which has been quality assured by Optometry Australia, aims to provide attendees with a holistic learning experience, offering on-demand CPD via the event’s virtual platform.
This inclusive approach is said to not only expand the reach of the convention but also create greater connectivity within the optometry community.
“Accessible to all registered delegates, the AVC’s online portal ensures that participants, whether joining us in person or virtually, have the flexibility to engage with the content at their convenience,” Moore said.
“Moreover, the platform will remain active for an additional four months following the AVC 2024 weekend, allowing attendees ample time to complete the program and further their professional development.”
In-person registration is designed for delegates who prefer the experience of attending a conference weekend in person and offers exclusive benefits for both Optometry Australia members and non-members. Registrants will enjoy:
• Full access to all plenary and workshop sessions throughout the two-day convention at GCCEC
• Up to six interactive hours available
• Breakfast lectures on Saturday and Sunday to kickstart the days with informative sessions
• Access to the exhibitor area for networking and exploring the latest advancements in the field
• A casual networking event on Saturday from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
For delegates who choose remote participation, the virtual registration option provides access to the conference weekend via live stream through the AVC 2024 virtual platform. Virtual attendees will benefit from:
• Live streaming of plenary and workshop sessions during the convention weekend, ensuring an immersive experience from anywhere
• Virtual access to exhibitors and sponsors and exploration of products and services remotely
Both registration options also include access to the AVC 2024 virtual platform for four months post conference, enabling delegates to watch on-demand CPD presentations, including workshops and plenary sessions from the convention weekend.
Registration for AVC 2024 is essential and more information about the process can be found here.
Attendees are encouraged to check the AVC website regularly for updates on the event, information about presenters and much more.
