Italian company Marcolin Group has agreed to work with watch manufacturer Omega to develop a range of Omega-branded sunglasses.The two companies are co-designing the eyewear collection, which is said to be inspired by Omega’s strong heritage and timepiece design. This is an exciting step for Omega because it leads our brand into new areas of creativity, Mr Raynald Aeschlimann, president and chief executive officer of Omega, commented. With our long history, there is real brand substance and authenticity to work with and we have ensured that it is truly represented in every pair of sunglasses. It’s also been beneficial to share this project with Marcolin Group, as their renowned expertise and background with high-level brands has allowed us to produce some fantastic products. For customers, this is a chance to find new ways to express personal style and a passion for our brand. The first summer collection for Omega’s sunglasses will be available in Omega ’boutique’ stores worldwide in August 2016.Healy Optical, the local distributor for Marcolin Group, indicated that while the new brand would initially be focusing on sunglasses, samples of optical products were expected to be released early next year, with stock to follow several months later.
