Specsavers has been recognised as one of the world’s best workplaces for the second year running, rising four places to secure the number 12 spot in the 2025 rankings.
The optical and audiology business is the highest-ranked UK-based organisation on the World’s Best Workplaces list and the top retailer globally. Compiled by Great Place to Work, the list draws on more than nine million survey responses, representing 25 million employees worldwide.
Specsavers CEO John Perkins said the recognition reflects the dedication of teams across the organisation.
“This is such a special accomplishment for everyone who works so tirelessly to create Specsavers’ outstanding workplace culture. This is something everyone should be really proud of. Our ranking among some of the biggest and brightest businesses in the world will inspire us to continue making life at Specsavers truly special.”
To be eligible for the World’s Best Workplaces list, companies must employ more than 5,000 people globally and appear on at least five national Best Workplaces lists across 2024 or early 2025. Organisations are assessed on their workplace culture, their commitment to supporting staff with personalised services, and their positive impact on people and communities across multiple countries.
Specsavers outperformed many multinational competitors in its national markets, ranking 8th on the European Best Workplaces list and 26th in the UK. The business has been recognised as a Great Place to Work in every country where it operates, including a number-one ranking in Denmark.
The World’s Best Workplaces 2025 list highlights employers that demonstrate consistent excellence across borders, fostering environments where employees feel valued, supported and engaged.
