Specsavers celebrates its top partners in Sydney

Held on Saturday 2 March at the International Convention Centre Sydney, the Partnership Sinar covered a broad range of topics across a number of breakout sessions, expo talks, and runway shows that featured a diverse range of models showcasing new and upcoming frames.The the of the event was ‘#STRONGER’, highlighting the continued strengthening of Specsavers’ Joint Venture Partnerships.Mr John Perkins, Specsavers joint CEO, alongside Mr Nigel Parker, Specsavers Australia and New Zealand managing director, delivered the keynote address. The presentation outlined the company’s future plans, which were supported throughout the day by a variety of other speakers.The expo featured more than 20 support office stands, including three fully operational model stores equipped with the latest diagnostic and automated equipment, including Optical Coherence Tomography devices. The model stores also featured fully functional dual-purpose and single-use audiology consulting rooms.The event concluded with the Awards for Excellence Dinner and charity fundraising event. Festivities began with samba dancers leading attendees into the dining hall, alongside the event’s MCs: comedy duo Mr Hamish Blake and Mr Andy Lee.The best Specsavers stores and ployees from both Australia and New Zealand received awards across 11 categories, such as ‘Excellence in the Community’ and ‘Graduate Great Place to Work’.Audiology was recognised in the awards for the first time, following Specsavers’ entry into the Australian audiology business in 2017.Wanganui, New Zealand, and Mornington, Victoria, Australia, took home the top accolades for store of the year in New Zealand and Australia respectively.The evening also featured a raffle to support several charitable causes, with Specsaver’s partner attendees raising $127,500 on the night. That amount was split with $85,300 donated to Vision Australia, $31,100 donated to Blind Foundation NZ, and $11,100 donated to Better Hearing Australia.The evening closed with a surprise concert, with ABBA tribute band Björn Again, entertaining the attendees long after the awards concluded.
