After announcing five new practices last month, Specsavers has unveiled plans for an additional four locations across Australia.
The nine new store openings are already in the works for the first half of 2021 and will bring the optical chain’s Australian practice network to 353. The company has also launched another program to expand existing stores.
According to Specsavers – which arrived in Australia 13 years ago – the four new location include:
- Alice Springs, Northern Territory.
- Mt Isa, Queensland.
- Parkes, New South Wales.
- South Melbourne, Victoria.
The practices announced in October were:
- Seaford, South Australia.
- Port Lincoln, South Australia.
- Warwick, Queensland.
- Newcastle and surrounds, New South Wales.
- Belgrave, Victoria.
“Specsavers expects to announce further new locations on an intermittent basis over the coming months. Alongside the new stores’ initiative, we also have an exciting program for expansion in existing stores and these will see many more new ownership opportunities created,” the company stated.
The stores will be operated under its joint venture partnership (JVP) franchise structure, which is said to bring a raft of benefits set out in our partnership prospectus.
“More store locations of course mean we will also create new JV Partnership opportunities for optometrists and optical dispensers/retailers – not to mention new jobs and connections with local communities,” Specsavers added.
