Singer Mr Robbie Williams has revealed one side effect he has been facing since using a weight loss drug.
In an interview with The Sun, the British singer said he had been having problems with his vision and was finding it difficult to see fans from the stage.
Williams uses weight loss drug Mounjaro, a tirzepatide, which is becoming a popular drug to manage Type 2 diabetes and obesity.
Recent research, including a 2024 study published in the JAMA Network Open and involving about 17,000 people, has identified side effects with semaglutide, which is often prescribed for type 2 diabetes and weight loss.
It is sold under brand names like Ozempic and Wegovy.
The study found that people taking semaglutide had higher rates of an eye condition known to cause blindness.
Williams said Mounjara had been “liberating” and a “medical necessity” to support his mental health
But the 51-year-old said he had also noticed his eyesight had become blurry.
“I don’t believe it’s age; I think it’s the jabs,” he said.
He said that while performing, people often appeared as blurry shapes in the crowd.
“On my most recent tour, there’s this thing I do where I sing She’s The One to a girl every night basically, I was looking in the direction of these women looking up at me, having this experience that’s quite obviously incredible to them, and little do they know I can’t see them,” he said.
He said he wanted to warn people of the potential risks, and to make sure they did their research.
