SILMO Sydney moves date to cater for MIDO visitors’ samples – and stock too

Feedback since SILMO Sydney was announced has sought to move SILMO Sydney to March to allow the industry to bring back samples from the MIDO exhibition in Milan, Italy and also to fit better with the retailer buying cycle after the busy post-Christmas-New Year period. The organisers advise they have secured booking for 9-11 March, 2017.
Gary Fitz-Roy managing director of organisers Expertise Events said: “it can’t just be lip service; we want to take action in the interests of the whole industry and making this change underlines our commitment.
“We have a clear 12 months to ensure SILMO Sydney is Australia’s No. 1 show and we continue to be humbled by the enthusiasm and interest.
“If you look at the 2017 calendar, Australia is the only international show in March, so it ensures SILMO Sydney takes it’s place on the world stage!
“Being held on 9-11 March, means SILMO Sydney will be one of the first shows to use the newly-opened International Convention Centre at Darling Harbour.”
