SILMO Sydney gains support of peak industry body for independents

Organiser Expertise Events’ managing director Gary Fitz-Roy said on 15 March: “We have launched the Independent Retailers Conference and partnering this on-floor program will be the National Retail Association.
“Our program for independent practitioners and retailers will run on the exhibition floor and be made up of small concise sessions, with visitors having the opportunity to sit afterwards one-on-one with NRA specialists to discuss specifics.”The most successful trade shows are those which meet the needs of buyers and match th to sellers. The key is to present the right mix aligned to a common goal; it’s all about the balance.
“This informative program will enable country and regional practitioners to pick up valuable retailing ideas that can have real impact that would not normally be available to th.
“Quite often the industry is so focused on their practices and businesses that the behind-the-scenes of every day running of the business doesn’t get the focus it should, and it’s those aspects that can greatly affect profitability, such as leases, law and specific retailing training such as merchandising.”
“We promised to push the boundaries and create a world class event that unites the key market players and adds value to buyers. The involvent of NRA certainly adds real value and clout to the overall event; we are excited by what we have announced so far, but expect more exciting announcents soon. We have only just begun outlining our plans for SILMO Sydney.”
During the recent MIDO exhibition in Milan, Italy, SILMO Paris announced the Sydney event at a media conference, generating considerable industry buzz. In early April, the organising team of SILMO Paris will visit Australia in support of SILMO Sydney and will conduct a site-visit of the new Darling Harbour exhibition centre.
Expertise Events reports stand bookings are strong and continue to build, donstrating the broad industry acceptance of the new event.
