Safilo is celebrating the 65th anniversary of its proprietary eyewear label Carrera with a relaunch of its most iconic designs.
In January, the Italian eyewear giant will introduce the Carrera Icons Collection, coinciding with the peak of the Australian spring/summer season. Following this, in April Safilo Australia will launch two remastered styles exclusive for the Australian market.
With Carrera dating back to 1956, the collection is said to represent the authentic daring spirit of the brand, featuring the drop shape and C-logo engraved on the front.
Born in the 1980s, Safilo’s Champion, Hot, Cool, Changer and Safari designs are among best-sellers in its Carrera archive. The company has remastered the designs with new and original design codes, updated technical features and craftmanship.
“The drop-shaped or squared sunglasses in Optyl or metal are personalised by the iconic C-logo on the front, as the unmistakable signature symbol, and they are highlighted by net graphic lines on the top-bar as well as on the temples, recalling the Flag of Carrera,” the company stated.
Carrera 22 Remastered (Australia exclusive)
Building on the strong style synonymous with Carrera in Australia, according to Safilo, the Carrera 22 is a lightweight acetate construction with a transparent trim in the universally cool Carrera shape.
The style has been remastered and updated with new colour schemes and the addition of Polarised lens options. It is available exclusively in Australia in 2021 to celebrate the Australian contribution to the Carrera global success.
Crafted from lightweight and durable Optyl, Safilo states the full-rim aviator profile is set apart by the metal insert along the brow bar and the signature ‘C’ positioned proudly on the front.
They are available in black with grey lenses, burgundy with dark grey lenses, matte black with grey bronze lenses, brown Havana with grey shaded lenses, and red Havana with green shaded lenses.
According to Safilo, these sunglasses celebrate the brand’s 65th anniversary in fitting fashion.
The full-rim aviator profile features a bold silhouette and distinctive finishing touches, such as the graphic, three-dimensional ‘C’ adorning the front and the logo lettering on the temples.
The lenses deliver a modern contrast and comes with two lens options that can be easily swapped removing the C logo plaque on the front through magnets. Available in black/burgundy with brown lenses, Havana with brown shaded lenses, and black with grey shaded lenses.
These unisex sunglasses offer a remastered version of an iconic design. The oversized mask profile is crafted from lightweight Optyl and accented with a bold brow bar that amps up the creative, contemporary mood, according to Safilo.
The brand’s signature ‘C’ positioned on the front and the logo lettering along the slim temples ensure instant brand recognition.
Available in black with grey shaded lenses, matte black with grey bronze lenses, Havana with blue/grey lenses, blue with brown lenses, and brown Havana with grey polarised lenses.
