Rodenstock has taken top honours at this year’s Silmo d’Or awards in Paris, with its B.I.G. EXACT Sensitive lenses winning in the Vision category.
The annual Silmo d’Or awards, presented during the SILMO optical trade fair (26–29 September, 2025), celebrate the most innovative and creative products in the global optical industry. A jury of international experts selected winners across 12 professional categories from a field of 75 nominations.
Rodenstock’s award-winning B.I.G. EXACT Sensitive lenses represent a new frontier in personalised vision correction, combining biometric precision with an understanding of each wearer’s unique visual sensitivity.
Building on the company’s trademark B.I.G. VISION technology, which uses precise biometric measurements from the DNEye Scanner to tailor lenses to individual eye models, the new lenses go one step further. They account for how a person’s visual perception responds to disruptions in their visual field.
By incorporating this variable, Rodenstock can now produce spectacle lenses designed not only to match the wearer’s biometric profile, but also to optimise for their specific sensitivity to visual disturbance. According to the company, wearers benefit from smoother reading flow, improved visual orientation, and a more natural vision experience.
“We are thrilled to share that we’ve won the Silmo d’Or 2025 award in the Vision category for our B.I.G. EXACT Sensitive lenses – the world’s first spectacle lenses optimised for individual visual sensitivity and biometry,” said Alexandre Bouin, general manager Rodenstock France.
“This prestigious award recognises true innovation in the optical industry and the engagement of local teams in bringing strong differentiation to our optician partners.”
Dr Dietmar Uttenweiler, executive vice president of research, development and innovation, added: “Winning in such a competitive environment affirms our ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of lens innovation. At Rodenstock, we are committed to shaping the future.”
