Registrations are rolling in fast for RANZCO’s 55th Congress in Adelaide in November.
Organisers say more than 530 people – virtual and in person – have registered already for the event, which kicks off 1 November 2024 with the already over-subscribed Global Eye Health Workshop and welcome reception.
The 2024 Congress, which runs until 4 November at the Adelaide Convention Centre, has a focus on sustainability, health and wellbeing, CPD and critical updates to the changing face of health in Australia and New Zealand.
In addition to the scientific program, there will be sessions focusing on performance coaching, CPD, professional development and also concurrent content courtesy of the RANZCO Practice Managers’ Group, Orthoptics Australia and Australian Ophthalmic Nurses Association (AONA).
“Our Graduation and Awards Ceremony has been flipped for 2024, with a new order to proceedings and a large cohort of deserving award winners being recognised,” the college said.
The congress will feature speakers from around Australia, as well as Nepal, Canada and the United States.
Speakers include Professor Robyn Jamieson, from Sydney, who will deliver the Dame Ida Mann Memorial Lecture; Adelaide’s Professor Justine Smith will host the Council Lecture; Nepal’s Dr Reeta Garung, for the Fred Hollows session; and Dr Elise Heon, from Canada, for the Paediatrics Update Lecture.
