Ophthalmic company Rayner is a first-time platinum sponsor at the Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (AUSCRS) conference in 2024 where it will host a series of social and educational events.
Rayner’s international marketing manager Mr Dave Maritz said the event, to be held on Hamilton Island from 25-27 July, is the flagship meeting for cataract and refractive surgeons in Australia and New Zealand.
“It provides a fantastic platform for industry, ophthalmologists and support staff to come together to learn, share knowledge, challenge and be challenged on clinical practice and new technology,” he said.
With the popular RayOne EMV extending range of vision IOL and the new Sophi Phaco system now included in its portfolio, Rayner is preparing to offer hospitals and surgeons a more comprehensive suite of cataract surgery products.
“It makes sense for Rayner to support this meeting and contribute to the development of cataract surgery,” Maritz said.
The company will host two cocktail-style functions on the Thursday and Friday afternoons from the close of the sessions until dinner.
“This will provide surgeons and support staff to mingle and network over a drink and some snacks,” Maritz said.
An ‘Ask the Experts Session’ will also feature during one of these events, with world-renowned ophthalmologists Professor Graham Barrett and Dr Ron Yeoh present on the Rayner booth.
Further, delegates will have the opportunity to pre-submit questions that will be asked and facilitated by host Dr Ben LaHood.
Rayner will also host a breakfast symposium that will feature presentations by Prof Barrett, Dr Josefina Botta from Argentina and Brisbane ophthalmologist Dr David Gunn, among others.
On the exhibition booth, Rayner will showcase its Sophi system.
“The system will be on display to allow surgeons and nurses to learn more about the state-of-the-art fluidics and the simplistic and efficient functionality in the operating theatre,” Maritz said.
Additionally, Rayner will have a large team at the event including local and international clinical experts to answer questions on the range of IOLs, Sophi and the RayPRO Patient Reported Outcome Measurements (PROM) platform.
Further information regarding Rayner’s events will be sent out to delegates in the coming weeks.
