RANZCO has appointed experience medical organisation executive, Mr Mark Carmichael, as its next CEO to replace Dr David Andrews.
Carmichael will lead RANZCO from 16 May. He comes to the position after serving as CEO of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists for the past decade.
Prior to that, he was CEO of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeons for five years.
He holds a Bachelor of Health Science – Physical Education from the University of Western Australia and a Masters in Business Management from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Carmichael said he was looking forward to working with the RANZCO Board and staff to further build on the strategic direction of the college and the specialty at large.
He replaces Andrews who served nine years in the role, since 2013. He has been appointed CEO of the Australian Veterinary Association.
