Independent optometry network ProVision has revealed details for its upcoming national conference that – for the first time in its 30-plus-year history – will open invitations to non-member optometrists and students.
The organisation’s biennial event will take place Friday 21 to Sunday 23 October at the Pullman Melbourne, Albert Park, featuring a world-class line up of key speakers, spearheaded by Australian of the Year Mr Dylan Alcott.
It will also host conference workshops including Practice Management System User Groups where attendees can engage with Optomate and Sunix developers, and view demonstrations of Optomate Touch’s new integration with ProVision’s ProAccounts system that is generating major stock management efficiencies for practices. There will also be Future Focused Workshops addressing topics such as future planning, succession planning, digital marketing and changes in consumer behaviour.
A dedicated workshop for early career optometrists and those interested in a career in the independent industry will also delve into the mechanisms for starting an independent practice. On the back of this, there will be a dedicated student/early career optometrist and independent practice owner networking opportunity.
ProVision CEO Ms Frances Mirabelli, who commenced in the role in February, was behind the decision to include non-member independents for the first time. There’s also been strong uptake among ProVision practice owners to bring along new potential members (refer one non-member to receive 50% off the conference fee, two and entry is free).
“The conference is our showcase event and I want to ensure the independent community knows what ProVision is about and the high quality services we can offer,” she said.
“Importantly, after the last few years, it’s a great opportunity to network with peers and industry leaders at our many social events including coffee catchups, conference welcome event, trade show, awards dinner and afterparty. And students can come and understand why there’s such a strong future for independent optometry.”
Mirabelli is also excited by the world class speaker line-up for the conference.
In addition to Alcott AO (The art of taking risks to achieve your goals), ProVision has secured business growth thought leader Mr Keith Abraham (Creating the business of your dreams), marketing expert Ms Katrina McCarter (Gen Y & Z: Understanding our consumers of tomorrow), motivational speaker Ms Amanda Gore (The power of joy), and Australian futurist Mr Steve Sammartino (Stand up for your future).
Delegates can also engage with ProVision’s 28 supplier partners under one roof at the conference’s trade show showcasing latest product ranges and offers.
Early bird registration ends 31 July. Click here to discover more conference details and register.
