Eyewear manufacturer and supplier Safilo Australia in collaboration with CR Labs is running a consumer promotion and a separate practice incentive campaign until the end of January 2024 as part of its Smith Rx program.

The Safilo-owned SMITH brand – amplified by its ChromaPop proprietary lens technology designed to optimise colour and contrast by improving the speed of visual processing – creates eyewear designed for the intersection between life and sport, focussed on performance in the most demanding conditions, the company said.

Available in single vision or progressive with anti-reflection, other attributes of SMITH eyewear include water and oil-resistant coatings, polarisation, and 100% UV protection.

In June 2023, SMITH Optics Australia, in conjunction with Safilo Australia, launched a world-first partnership with CR Labs offering SMITH Rx sunglasses. CR Labs, as the exclusive SMITH Optics partner in Australia, will manufacture ChromaPop lenses with Rx included and supply complete SMITH Rx sunglasses directly to practices from its state-of-the-art Australian facility.

ChromaPop lenses are designed to filter light at two specific wavelengths, eliminating “colour confusion” for the brain, and ultimately recognising true colour faster, regardless of lens tint.

SMITH Complete Rx Program features:
– Competitive pricing inclusive of frame and Rx lenses.
– Premium quality ChromaPop lenses produced locally by CR Labs with state-of-the-art digital surfacing technology for optimised vision experience.
– Omni-channel supply of frame and lenses from CR Labs for simplified ordering and faster delivery.

Coinciding with the warmer months and outdoor adventures, practice customers can purchase any pair of SMITH Rx prescription sunglasses risk-free. If, for any reason, they don’t love the product they can return the sunglasses for a full refund, a statement said.

“This offer will be supported with an A4 strut card and social media assets, available for registered practices,” Safilo said.

In addition, a practice incentive is also running through summer and to participate, optical stores can sign-up through a CR Labs or Safilo sales representative.

“Create a destination in your practice for SMITH Rx and provide a full-brand experience with visual merchandising for SMITH Rx, contact your Safilo sales rep and discuss visual merchandising opportunities,” Safilo stated.
