Lance Paulo – Device Technologies
Lance has joined Device Technologies Australia as an associate product specialist. His role is to provide diagnostic support to optometrists, ophthalmologists and orthoptists that oversee, diagnose and treat a multitude of ocular conditions. Lance has a background in biotechnology and is thrilled to work with a fantastic and supportive team to improve the health outcomes of patients in his territory and abroad.
Jenna McGowan – Optometry Australia
Jenna McGowan has joined Optometry Australia as its member communications officer to support its member and consumer communications and engagement activities with a focus on delivering written, visual, digital and broadcast storytelling across the organisation’s multiple channels. Jenna was previously national media & communications manager with the Australian Institute of Architects and prior to this spent five years in London where she worked in communications roles for the British Lung Foundation and for two PR agencies.
Trixie Do – Optometry Australia
Trixie Do has joined Optometry Australia as its community engagement officer, member & consumer, also seeing her support the organisation’s member and consumer communications and engagement activities with a focus on delivering written, visual, digital and broadcast storytelling across the organisation’s multiple channel. Before joining Optometry Australia, she was an optical dispenser where she worked seven years part-time for OPSM and, from 2020, she was also a part-time communications officer with youth NFP, Oaktree.
Jane Cowan – Orthoptics Australia
Jane Cowan has joined Orthoptics Australia in the role of executive officer. She comes to the role with a degree in public policy and experience across a wide variety of portfolios including, Indigenous affairs, disability services and information and communication technology. Jane is excited to contribute to the vision of striving for excellence in eye healthcare.
Anna Healy – Safilo
Safilo is excited to announce that Anna Healy has recently joined as the senior trade marketing specialist for Australia and New Zealand. Anna brings a wealth of knowledge to the marketing role, with the rare combination of experience in both wholesale and retail sales and marketing roles over the past years in the optical industry. She said: “I am thrilled to be joining Safilo and contributing to the promotion of the brand portfolio during a period of strong growth. Interestingly it is the company with which my grandfather first started our family wholesale business, so I have strong connection to the history of the company.” Anna will be responsible for the marketing activations across Australia and New Zealand and will be based at the new Safilo APAC headquarters in Peakhurst, Sydney.
Claire Hooper-Lewis – Bausch + Lomb
Claire Hooper-Lewis has taken on a new role with Bausch + Lomb Surgical as the regional business manager for Victoria/Tasmania, South Australia/Northern Territory & Western Australia. Over the past 10 years she has worked in various roles at Bausch + Lomb, having moved from Wales, UK. “I am incredibly fortunate and proud to work for a company which has provided me great development opportunities, all the time remaining in WA,” she said.
