Amy Walton – Glaukos

Amy Walton takes on the role of Glaukos product manager, Australia. Walton is a highly experienced ophthalmic professional, graduating from La Trobe University with a degree in orthoptics and ophthalmic sciences in 2002. She began her career as a senior orthoptist across practices in Victoria and Queensland before transitioning into industry with Alcon, where she excelled as a surgical account manager and refractive laser specialist. Her strong clinical expertise led to her selection as part of a specialist team that successfully introduced laser‑assisted cataract surgery across Australia and New Zealand. In 2015, Walton joined Glaukos as one of the original Australian team members. Over the past decade, she has supported and trained Australian and international ophthalmologists in the implantation of iStent and Preserflo devices, playing a key role in advancing glaucoma treatment and patient access to evolving technologies. Walton holds a graduate certificate in Marketing Management from the Australian Institute of Management (2024) and brings over 23 years of experience in ophthalmology.
Rhys Delander – Glaukos

Rhys Delander has joined Glaukos as regional business manager for the Gold Coast and South Brisbane. A highly accomplished clinical specialist, Delander brings more than 19 years of ophthalmic experience, with extensive expertise across account management, refractive suites, IOLs, capital equipment, and clinical training within operating rooms and clinics. He is recognised for fostering trusted, professional partnerships and for his commitment to excellence. Delander began his ophthalmic career with Alcon in 2007 as a field service engineer before transitioning into sales as a surgical equipment manager in 2013, where he was the recipient of multiple sales awards. Most recently, Delander served as regional sales manager for Queensland, leading a team of seven regional business managers and consistently delivering state revenue targets in a highly competitive environment.
Mark Versaico – Glaukos

Mark Versaico has joined Glaukos as regional business manager for Western Australia. He is an accomplished professional bringing more than 15 years of extensive ophthalmic experience to the region. With expertise across surgical account management, IOLs, refractive suites, and clinical training within operating rooms and clinics, Versaico is recognised for building strong, long-term partnerships and consistently delivering outstanding commercial outcomes. Versaico’s career includes senior roles with globally recognised organisations such as Sanofi and Alcon, where he contributed to multiple successful product launches encompassing advanced cataract technologies, vitrectomy (VR) systems, lasers, consumables, and IOLs. He has also played an active role in best-practice forums, developing and executing strategic initiatives that ensured sustained over-performance across his territory.
Tyran Preece – Glaukos

Tyran Preece has joined Glaukos as regional business manager for North Queensland. He is a highly respected surgical account manager and clinical specialist, with a strong clinical foundation gained through studying orthoptics at La Trobe University before relocating to the Sunshine Coast in 2007. Preece began his career working across two ophthalmic practices as a practising orthoptist, where he spent four years developing extensive hands-on experience before transitioning into ophthalmic sales in Adelaide in 2012. Returning to Queensland in 2013, Preece has since built a highly successful career in ophthalmology, holding key roles with Alcon, Device Technologies, and most recently Rayner. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in driving business growth across consumables and capital equipment, while also contributing to several successful new product launches.
Lauren McMartin – Mondottica Australia Pty Ltd

Lauren McMartin has joined the sales team at Mondottica Australia Pty Ltd welcome as the NSW sales representative. With more than 20 years’ experience in the optical industry, McMartin has built a strong reputation for delivering personalised care while serving her local community. Her career began at HCF Eyecare as a receptionist, before progressing into a long-standing role with independent optometry practice Medispecs as the dispenser/manager. McMartin also gained valuable experience within the corporate sector before returning to the independent space, where her passion for patient-focused service truly thrives.
Thomas Ford – Optometry Board of Australia

Optometrist Thomas Ford has been appointed to the Optometry Board of Australia as practitioner member from New South Wales for a period of three years from 27 March 2026 (first term). Ford is an early career optometrist and partner at George & Matilda Eyecare for Albert Ravanello Optometrists in Griffith, NSW. He is also president of Optometry NSW/ACT and Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
