Dr Delia Wang – OKKO Eye Specialist Centre
OKKO Eye Specialist Centre has had a fourth ophthalmologist join its ranks. Dr Delia Wang specialises in oculoplastics, medical retina, and ophthalmic cataract microsurgery. She is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. Dr Wang is now available to see patients at both Auchenflower and Mt Gravatt locations.
Jenny Mikakos – Optometry Australia
Former Victorian Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services Jenny Mikakos has joined the Optometry Australia national board as a Co-opted Director. With more than 30 years of experience in public service and the law, she brings a wealth of expertise to the organisation. “We are excited to welcome Jenny to our board. Optometry Australia will benefit greatly from her dedication and experience in health and public service, which are invaluable assets to our organisation,” said president Dr Margaret Lam said.
Lien Trinh – Australian College of Optometry
The Australian College of Optometry has welcomed newly appointed councillor Ms Lien Trinh, a public health optometrist with experience in project roles in Indigenous eye health, The Fred Hollows Foundation, Rotary Australia and the Brien Holden Foundation. “Lien joins a diverse team of optometrists and skill-based professionals who volunteer their expertise to provide strategic and governance oversight,” ACO said. This was announced at a recent AGM. Returning council members Sophie Koh, ACO president, and Darrell Baker were reappointed for a further two-year term.
