Optos has announced the expanded availability of AreaAssist, a clinical review feature now offered through OptosAdvance for use across optomap devices, including the new Silverstone RGB.
The company said AreaAssist was designed to streamline retinal image assessment, allowing the practitioner to highlight regions of interest within ultra-widefield images that might require closer attention.
It said this multimodal insight provided practitioners with an additional tool to review images consistently and to assist with detailed assessment in busy practices or during more complex evaluations.
“Clinicians today are managing more patients with greater diagnostic expectations than ever before,” said Mr Bradley Yates, chief product manager at Optos.
“AreaAssist was developed to give practitioners an intuitive way to identify regions of interest quickly and with confidence.
“By enhancing the review process across optomap devices, we are helping clinicians make clearer, faster and more informed decisions.”
Optos said that AreaAssist was available in the newly launched Silverstone RGB, the combination of true-colour RGB imaging, navigated swept-source OCT and AreaAssist providing a comprehensive view of retinal structure and function, enabling clinicians to revisit regions of interest and monitor subtle changes over time.
“Optos is committed to delivering innovations that strengthen diagnostic workflows and improve patient outcomes,” the company has stated.
“Extending AreaAssist across the optomap portfolio enables smooth integration into diverse clinical workflows, supporting consistent and reliable image interpretation.”
