Optopol Technology, available through OptiMed, introduces what is described as the highly affordable PTS 2000 automated projection perimeter, which boasts one of the world’s largest and fastest selection of testing patterns and strategies used in perimetry. When combined with the REVO S-OCT, the PTS 2000’s intuitive software enables practitioners to combine both OCT and visual field results for a quick and comprehensive structure and function single page report.
According to OptiMed, Threshold testing can be completed in three minutes depending on a patients condition, delivering ZETA, ZETA Fast and ZETA Faster strategies for high reliability and precise threshold estimation. 24-2/24A field tested in three minutes (30-2/30A in four minutes) the PTS 2000 threshold strategies provide more detailed information than screening strategies in a comparable duration.
Superior reliability is made possible with the PTS 2000’s high resolution camera for precise monitoring of a patients compliance via the blink control feature (no stimuli are omitted due to normal blinking, test is put on hold until the eye is opened again), Head Tracking (monitors & adjusts patients head position throughout the test) , Eye Tracking (analyses pupil movement) and the EyeSee module which records an image of a patients eye during stimulus presentation.
Recently released software version 3.7 includes new glaucoma staging system 2 also known as the Dr Brusini test which classifies visual field defects based on the averaged value of deviations from the MDh and PSD index. The result indicates the stage of a field defect, from S0 (stage 0) to S5 (stage 5), and also type of a defect: general, localised, and mixed. Results can be printed with the standard 6 in 1 report including both eyes on 1 page.
The Optopol PTS 2000 is available exclusively in Australia through OptiMed.
