Optipro, a fast-growing all-Australian optical buying group, has announced a strategic partnership with ZEISS, a global force in optics and optoelectronics.

The company says this “exciting collaboration marks a significant milestone in Optipro’s mission to provide independent practices with access to more premium technologies, expert support, and world-class products through its partner suppliers”.

In Australia, ZEISS is a well-established and trusted name, with a legacy dating back to 1961 when its first office was opened in Sydney.

ZEISS employs over 250 staff in the region and operates across three strong

business areas – Vision Care, Industrial Quality & Research, and Medical Technology – under three legal entities: Carl Zeiss Pty Ltd (Sydney), Carl Zeiss Vision Australia Holdings (Adelaide), and Carl Zeiss (NZ) Ltd (Auckland).

ZEISS is also home to a major global vision care innovation and enablement team at its Tonsley site in South Australia, further reinforcing its role as a key player in shaping the future of optical technology.

“We are delighted to welcome ZEISS to the Optipro supplier network,” said Mr Michael Nasser, director of Optipro.

“ZEISS brings a solid track record of outstanding work that deeply understands the needs of independent eyecare professionals. This partnership is a major win for our members.”

The company said the partnership would give Optipro members access to ZEISS’ full portfolio of premium lenses, diagnostic instruments, digital solutions, and more, all supported by a team of experts who are deeply embedded in the local industry landscape.

“Independent optometrists are at the heart of community eyecare,” said Mr Jason Bowen, customer engagement manager at ZEISS Australia. “Our collaboration with Optipro allows us to directly support eyecare professionals by offering meaningful innovations and tailored services that enhance practice efficiency and patient outcomes.

”This partnership reflects a shared vision between Optipro and ZEISS: to ensure independent optometry not only thrives but leads the way in delivering personalised, technologically advanced eyecare.”
