Australasian ophthalmic products supplier OptiMed has launched a new online ordering portal to streamline the customer experience.
Through the portal, eyecare professionals can now purchase pharmaceuticals and consumables. Ancillary products such as trial frames, occluders, foreign body instrumentation and ocular lenses can also be ordered directly online.
OptiMed national product manager Mr John Larkin said the portal had been developed for the benefit of customers and their convenience.
The inclusion of ancillary products via this ordering method is providing the customer with a comprehensive ‘one stop shop’ experience of testing products not replicated by any other company, he said.
Previously, the process of quote requests and replies would involve at least four steps of communication from both parties before confirming the order. This is now one simple online process. Customers have full visibility on prices and group/bulk purchase discounts if applicable.
New customers to the portal will need to register and confirm their account details via email prior to using. Upon logging in, customers will be able to place new orders by selecting the “Order Now” tab and will also have visibility of current active orders, past orders and even be able to replicate previous orders for simplicity, Larkin said.
“They can pay immediately using secure payment methods or alternatively place orders on their regular OptiMed account with payment terms being accepted,” he said.
While all pharmaceuticals and consumables within OptiMed’s portfolio can be purchased via this method, the ancillary items include:
- Refraction, Accessories & Orthoptics (optimed.com.au)
- Dry Eye Treatment (optimed.com.au)
- Foreign Body Removal /Anterior Instruments & Kits (optimed.com.au)
