As our practice continues to grow, we’re pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an Optical Dispenser (or two) to join our vibrant, energetic team.
About the role:
Operating from Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5.30pm, and Saturday 9am to 12pm, this rare and rewarding opportunity allows negotiation of hours and hourly rate for the right candidate. The role involves a combination of dispensing, technical and administrative tasks in a busy practice, using the latest in digital centration devices, while supported by a small yet highly qualified and experienced team.
Tasks involved include (however not limited to):
- Provide high-level and considered dispensing advice whilst considering lifestyle, occupation, personality and handling needs
- Deliver a professional, friendly and welcoming service to patients and customers
- Timely ordering and sorting of lenses, frames, contact lenses, solutions and sundry items
- Assist with stock purchasing and management
- Support the continued growth and training activities of our Optical Assistant
- Handling of referrals and reports to and from local Ophthalmologists and GP’s
- Visual merchandising of optical frames and product displays
- Assistance with creation of window displays and social media content
- General practice administration duties
- Assist to maintain a high level of housekeeping, including overall presentation and cleanliness of the practice
About you:
Applicants must possess the following attributes:
- Have completed the Cert IV Optical Dispensing or above
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic eye conditions and relevant spectacle or visual aid requirements
- Mechanically minded with a knack for spectacle assembly, frame repairs and adjustments
- Outstanding customer service skills with a genuine interest in people care and health care
- A love of fashion and eyewear trends
- Be a natural problem solver
- An ability to work well within a team or independently
- Be a self-motivated, energetic and empathetic person
