Local eyecare retailer OPSM has opened its largest ‘flagship’ store, following a major upgrade and expansion of an existing inner Sydney location.
The optical chain recently opened its newly-refurbished store at 413 George Street, doubling the location’s footprint to 300m2 and making it the largest of the company’s 330 corporate locations and 41 franchises.
The store will house the widest selection of glasses and sunglasses of any OPSM location. It will have a particular focus on luxury frames, including Oliver Peoples, Tiffany&Co, Prada, Chanel and Giorgio Armani.
It will also feature cutting edge optometry technology, including the Optos Daytona Ultra Wide Digital Retina Scan, which provides a 200-degree view of the eye and is only available at OPSM.
“At OPSM our focus is always the customer, so we wanted to create an in-store experience that is second to none,” said Alfonso Cerullo, general manager of Luxottica, the parent company of OPSM.
“We want to ensure we meet the needs of all customers. OPSM George Street will offer a significant selection of Alternative Fit optical and sunglasses designed to fit customers with a narrow nose bridge, so all face shapes are catered for. Staff are trained to assist customers with all face shapes and styling concerns while also speaking multiple languages.”
OPSM director of optometry and community Mr Peter Murphy added: “Staff training is extremely important at OPSM. Our optometrists receive training in the latest eyecare technology to ensure they are at the leading edge of the profession.
“We’ve been helping Australians look after their eye health for more than 85 years and we continue to look for new ways to enhance our customer experience.”
