With cancelled conferences and travel restrictions due to COVID-19, four Australian ophthalmic equipment suppliers are banding together to host special showcase events in at least two major cities.
Device Technologies, BOC Ophthalmic Instruments, Designs For Vision and OptiMed are planning the event – dubbed O=PEN HOUSE – for Melbourne 8-9 October and Brisbane 15-16 October as an alternative local opportunity to showcase their range of devices and equipment.
A NSW event may be scheduled when restrictions allow.
Device Technologies ophthalmic diagnostic business manager Mr Ryan Heggie said with the cancellation of almost every large-scale event this year, the company wanted to come together with other distributors and offer the ophthalmic community a way of experiencing new technology, while remaining compliant with relative state government restrictions.
“Obviously, this will differ from state to state, however by offering ‘by appointment only’ we’re able to be more flexible with arrangements depending on the situation at that time,” he said.
“The rapid advancement of technology has not slowed during COVID. In fact, in the last 12 months there have been many new diagnostic devices with advanced features released to the global market. O=PEN HOUSE keeps eyecare professionals up-to-date on the latest technology.”
Heggie said there would be a range of discounts and specials offers across each of the exhibitors’ product portfolios.
Eyecare professionals can register their interest or request an appointment date/time by contacting any of the participating companies.
