Wymond-owned eyewear companies have taken out three categories in the ODMA Awards for Excellence program 2023, announced at O=MEGA23.
Meanwhile, HOYA’s MiYOSMART myopia management lens won the Lens Design category, and the company was also crowned the Lens Coating award with its new HiVision Meiryo Diamond premium coating.
A new virtual reality visual field analyser from BOC Instruments also featured in the awards, claiming the Optical Equipment award.
The awards were revealed on Friday 8 September and recognise the best in fashion, innovation and technology within the national optical industry.
The categories are similar to prior awards programs, but this year included an award for Australian businesses employing environmentally sustainable business processes and/or manufacturing or distributing sustainable eyewear and eyecare products.
Eyewear wholesale businesses owned and operated by Mr Mark and Ms Lisa Wymond featured prominently. Their Eyes Right Optical business took out the Men’s Optical Frames category with Face A Face Paris – Neonnm, while the company’s new Project Green eyewear brand took out the Sustainability category. Another business they own, Sunglass Collective, was crowned the best Women’s Optical Frame, Kaleos – Faye.
