The key reason for the joining is “to bring together both associations’energies on sunglass issues”, with the SAA benefitting from ODMA’sresources, according to a press release under both organisations’ names.
Under the arrangent, the SAA comes under ODMA’s umbrella as a sub-committee of the latter.
Mr Tim McCann has relinquished the presidency of the SAA and becomes anex-officio mber of the ODMA board to address specific sunglassmatters.
Mr John Toouli and Mr Jonathon Lewis are ODMA board mbers and managesunglass operations, who, with Mr McCann and ODMA executive director MsFinola Carey, will provide an increased focus on sunglass issues.
The Sunglass Association of Australia has 40 mber companies (all ofwhich were already mbers of ODMA). The, SAA name is being transferredto ODMA.
All correspondence concerning the SAA will continue to be directed to Mr McCann.
