Newly-formed organisation Optical Dispensers Australia (ODA) has partnered with various optical companies who are supporting the organisation’s goal to enhance the national optical dispensing profession.
ODA this month announced its founding partners, which include Hoya Australia, Alcon, Zeiss, Rodenstock Australia, Tokai Optical Australia, Optique Line, Eyes Right Optical, HumanWare, Aviva & Mann Optical Group, and Hilco Vision.
Eyecare Recruitment, George & Matilda Eyecare, Australasian College of Optical Dispensing (ACOD), and the International Opticians Association (IOA) are also among ODA’s founding partners.
The organisation launched in January and now has over 1,200 members.
“Optical Dispensers Australia has been founded to enhance the optical dispensing profession in Australia by providing a strong and supportive community where we can share and build upon our collective knowledge-base,” the organisation said.
“ODA cannot do this alone, and we are proud to announce that we have partnered with a large and varied group of optical industry corporate partners.”
The organisation said its corporate partners are already supporting the ODA community by preparing upcoming webinar content, providing ODA with industry resources and exclusive member offers.
“On behalf of everyone at ODA and in the optical dispensing industry of Australia, we graciously welcome these founding corporate partners and thank them for supporting our growing profession.”
ODA’s first CPD webinar was held on 23 February. The recording of the webinar – on improving dispensing outcomes through behaviour profiling, presented by ACOD’s Ms Virgilia Readett – is available on ODA’s website, and can be viewed free by ODA members.
The next CPD webinar will take place on 30 March. The topic is ‘Seeing it clearly; a holistic view on optometry marketing’, and will be presented by Advantage Agency’s co-founder, Mr Kevin Spiteri, an award-winning author and leading authority in marketing.
ODA CEO April Petrusma said the upcoming webinar is proving popular with members registering the same day it was announced.
“Once again, we are offering the live webinar free for all ODA members or $55 for non-members,” Petrusma said.
