Nominations are now open for the industry awards at ODMA Fair 2025.

From Monday, 3 February to the end of March, businesses can be nominated for the awards, which will be open for voting from April. The winners will be announced on Friday, 27 June, at the ODMA Fair in Darling Harbour, Sydney.

ODMA CEO Ms Amanda Trotman said: “This year, we’ve designed the awards to ensure the entire industry can participate – from storefronts to product innovation.

“We’ve also made the process flexible, allowing people to nominate in one category or several, based on their preference.”

She said this year’s awards featured an “impressive line-up of categories designed to celebrate excellence and innovation across the optical industry”:

  • Independent Practice of the Year – This can be self-nominated or nominated by providers. Nominators are asked to provide wording and images if applicable. Examples of things are renovations, team, customer service, local industry involvement (i.e. chamber of commerce, schools, sporting teams, charity), good news stories, staff retention, and practice financial or patient results.
  • Supplier of the Year – Nominated by independent practices as to what instrument (type and brand) is used in the practice and is highly valued and why.
  • Top Supplier Customer Service Team – Nominated by independent optical businesses. Who is your favourite supplier, and why?
  • Sales Representative of the Year – Nominated by independent optical businesses as to who gives the best service to a practice and how they have gone above and beyond to help.
  • Instrument of the Year – Nominated by independent practices as to what piece of equipment they are using and why.
  • Versatile Frame of the Year – Nominated by independent practices. What frame has stood out over the last 12 months for its appeal to people, its versatility for different shape faces, colour range, adaptability, etc. Practices can nominate up to 3 frames.
  • Window Dressing – Best independent practice window dressing. Window displays that have stood out, gained great results and helped attract new clients. Nominate up to two different window displays and send up to two images of each display.
