The newly released OS1000 manufactured by SBM Italy is now available in Australia through BOC Instruments.
In a release, BOC Instruments said the OS1000 combined a powerful precision corneal topographer with comprehensive dry eye analysis.
An AI-based algorithm upscales the acquired topography image to an impressive 23 megapixels. The extreme quality image is then elaborated obtaining new levels of precision in Placido disk-based corneal topography measurement, it said.
The topographer generates all the reports required for kerataconus screening, contact lens fitting simulation, aberrometry analysis, advanced altimetry and visual acuity simulation.
The Wizard procedure efficiently captures images for dry eye analysis, including interferometry, tear meniscus and non-invasive tear BUT, 3D meibography and much more.
Ocular surface analysis reports are presented in a way that is easily understood and show comparison with normative values.
BOC said reports included N.I.B.U.T, eye blink, lipid layer thickness, tear meniscus heights, meibomian gland loss percentage, and bulbar redness.
The print reports visually show changes between visits to explain to patients changes in pathology and effectiveness of treatment.
A smartphone app with dry eye follow-up is for the patient to receive exam results and provide a fast, easy practitioner-patient interactive communication.
