The Australian Medical Association president, Associate Professor Brian Owler, immediately danded the government drop all its raining plans, including a $5 cut to the Medicare rebate and the freeze on Medicare indexation, and go back to square one on health policy.
Prof Owler has requested a meeting with the prime minister after his declaration on 9 February that he wouldn’t persevere with a Medicare co-payment unless the medical profession agreed to it.
