Optos will have a strong presence on the Australian ophthalmic events circuit in 2025, providing a key opportunity for eyecare professionals to get hands-on with its ultra-widefield (UWF) retinal imaging technology.

The company will be exhibiting at several optometry and ophthalmology events across Australasia, starting with Optometry Western Australia’s WAVE 2025 event in Fremantle in March.

“If you’re serious about advancing patient care and staying ahead in eye health technology, then these upcoming Optos events across Australia and New Zealand are where you need to be,” the company said.

“This is your chance to get hands-on with optomap UWF imaging – the game-changer in early disease detection, diagnosis, and clinical efficiency.”

WAVE 2025 – Fremantle, 22-23 March

For optometrists wanting to elevate their clinical skills and diagnostic capabilities, WAVE 2025 is a must-attend event for those seeking high-quality education and hands-on learning. Held at The Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle, this in-person and virtual conference aims to make cutting-edge knowledge accessible to all.

At the Optos booth, delegates will see firsthand how optomap UWF imaging captures over 80% of the retina in a single scan, revolutionising the detection of conditions like diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and AMD – earlier and more effectively.

“Don’t just hear about the technology, experience it in action.”

Gold Coast Interactive – 13-14 April

This boutique, hands-on conference by Optometry Australia is designed for engaged learning, offering interactive workshops and real-world case discussions.

Optos will showcase live optomap demonstrations, showing exactly how UWF imaging “integrate seamlessly into a busy clinical practice”, making early disease detection easier and more efficient.

RANZCO New Zealand Branch ASM – Rotorua, 30-31 May

Optos is taking cutting-edge imaging technology across the Tasman to the RANZCO NZ Branch Annual Scientific Meeting in Rotorua. If you practice in Australia or New Zealand, this is another chance to see how UWF imaging is transforming retinal diagnostics. Get hands-on experience with optomap and learn how advanced imaging can redefine patient care in your practice.

ODMAFair25 – Sydney, 27-29 June

ODMAFair25 at the ICC Sydney is returning as the ultimate showcase of the latest optical equipment, lenses, and imaging innovations.

“At the Optos booth, you can experience optomap UWF imaging in action and explore how this breakthrough technology enhances patient education, speeds up disease detection, and supports more accurate clinical decisions,” the company said.

APSPOS 2025 – Brisbane, 29 June – 1 July

For those specialising in pediatric ophthalmology, the Asia-Pacific Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology Society (APSPOS) Congress in Brisbane is a highlight on the event calendar.

Optos will demonstrate how UWF imaging supports early detection and management of childhood retinal conditions, helping ophthalmologists provide the best possible care for young patients.

Approach the Optos booth

Every serious eyecare professional should be hands-on with the latest technology – and these events represent a key opportunity, the company said.

Optos said its live demonstrations will show how optomap ultra-widefield imaging can revolutionise a practice, offering:

  • Faster, more efficient imaging – over 80% of the retina captured in a single scan
  • Improved disease detection – see pathologies before symptoms appear
  • A better patient experience – high-quality imaging, often without dilation
  • Enhanced clinical confidence – more data for stronger diagnoses and decision-making
