The George & Matilda Eyecare (G&M) network in the northern NSW corridor continues to grow with the addition of a long-standing Nelson Bay practice owned by optometrist Mr Ian Brigden.
Brigden, who established his own practice in 1980, said he decided to join G&M on the recommendation of a few colleagues who have also joined the network.
“It will help in my succession planning for a well-earned retirement. I hopefully will be able to continue practising in the same manner as I have been without all the paperwork involved in the normal day-to-day running of a practice,” he said.
“My advice to others considering retirement is to have a good look at the G&M model as they appear to be very generous in their acquisitions at the moment.”
G&M general manager of partnerships, Ms Cassie Gersbach, said Brigden’s practice presents a partnership opportunity offering ongoing mutual benefits for all involved.
“Aligning to the G&M characteristic of being local and connected, Ian is a member, and former president, of the local Rotary Club and has been a committed and respected local optometrist for 43 years, operating his own practice in Nelson Bay since 1980,” she said.
Gersbach said Brigden and his team, formerly part of Eyecare Plus, have been providing care for multiple generations in his community for more than four decades.
“His approach to continue to provide trusted eyecare for the local community supported by latest technology, quality eyewear and best lenses available really complements G&M’s approach to providing quality care to our communities,” she said.
