HOYA Vision Care will host a high-level virtual roundtable this month, spotlighting childhood myopia as a growing global health concern and calling for coordinated action across healthcare, policy, and innovation.
To mark World Children’s Day on Thursday 20 November 2025, HOYA Vision Care will convene a global panel of leaders for a virtual roundtable, “Tackling the myopia crisis: uniting frontline care, policy, and innovation.”
Running from 09:00–10:00 CET, the 60-minute event will bring together leading voices from the World Health Organization (WHO), academia, and industry to address the escalating burden of childhood myopia worldwide.
Speakers include Mr Marius De Beer, chief sustainability officer at HOYA Vision Care; Dr Stuart Keel, technical officer for the Vision and Eye Care Programme at WHO; Ms Jacqueline Grove, CEO of The Coalition for Clear Vision; Professor Serge Resnikoff, chair of the International Myopia Institute (IMI); and Professor Dominique Bremond-Gignac, Professor of Ophthalmology in France.
The panel will explore how coordinated global and national responses can better safeguard children’s eye health for future generations, highlighting the need for collaboration between clinicians, policymakers, educators, and innovators.
A 15-minute media Q&A will follow the main discussion, with questions invited in advance.
Registration for the event is now open via Zoom.
