Designs For Vision is now supplying the iCare HOME2 tonometer, which it says revolutionises glaucoma care by enabling patients to capture their own intraocular pressure (IOP) at different times of the day and night.
The company says the device, intended for home use under medical supervision, may also help reveal IOP peaks that might have passed unrecognised, had measurements only been taken during office hours at a clinic.
The treating practitioner is then provided with relevant IOP data to support treatment decisions. A range of features are said to make HOME2 easy for patients to operate.
Measurements can be taken at any angle. It features Android/iOS connectivity and results can be viewed by the practitioner via cloud software.
