George & Matilda Eyecare has announced a new partnership with Eyescan in Toorak, Melbourne, an innovative practice known for its combination of ophthalmology, optometry, and optical dispensing, all under one roof.
Established by leading ophthalmologist Dr Harry Unger, the practice had built a strong reputation over the past 15 years for delivering premium clinical care paired with exceptional customer service, the media release said.
It said Dr Unger had been a pioneer in the field, with nearly four decades of experience in ophthalmology
“Driven by a passion for preserving and improving vision, he created Eyescan to offer patients a truly integrated model of eye care.”
Dr Unger said: “My goal was to develop a comprehensive service that brought together the full spectrum of vision care, from diagnosis and treatment to premium eyewear, all delivered with professionalism and care.”
Eyescan is “widely recognised for its commitment to clinical excellence and the seamless experience it provides to patients. Its innovative model ensures continuity of care across specialties, earning it a reputation as a trusted one-stop destination for eye health in the Toorak community”.
“We’re excited to join the George & Matilda Eyecare network,” said Dr Unger. “This partnership supports our mission while also aligning with our values. G&M is an innovative company that truly values the expertise of its people and the contribution they make to delivering outstanding patient outcomes.”
Dr Unger said he was drawn to George & Matilda Eyecare not only for its reputation and resources but also for its collaborative approach to partnerships.
“The G&M team has been incredibly accommodating, with a genuine desire to ensure a smooth transition for our team and patients,” he said.
“It’s clear they’re committed to making things work in a way that honours our existing model.”
Mr Chris Beer, CEO of George & Matilda Eyecare, welcomed the addition of Eyescan to the growing national network.
“Harry and the Eyescan team have created a standout model of integrated eyecare that complements our vision perfectly. This partnership is an exciting opportunity to support a well-established, forward-thinking practice while continuing to provide the highest level of care to patients.”
With this new partnership, George & Matilda Eyecare said it continued to expand its footprint across Australia, working with experienced eye care professionals to grow sustainable, patient-first practices.
“George & Matilda Eyecare is committed to supporting independent practitioners, preserving their unique identity while enhancing operations with national resources and support.
