Rayner is set to make a significant impact at this year’s European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) 2025 Congress in Copenhagen, with a dynamic programme of hands-on experiences, expert-led sessions, and new clinical data presentations.
The company said that visitors to the Rayner booth would have the opportunity to experience the Galaxy spiral IOL first-hand using the RALV vision simulator.
This immersive device allows surgeons to compare visual outcomes through the IOLs themselves, including Galaxy’s remarkable reduction in halo and glare versus diffractive trifocal lenses.
Rayner said that, for those interested in trying the Sophi phaco machine, it was offering 30-minute bookable wetlab sessions, alongside live masterclass demonstrations by renowned Sophi Centre of Excellence surgeons.
These masterclasses promise valuable insights and the opportunity to ask questions about day-to-day surgeon experience with Sophi:
- Dr Erik Mertens – Saturday 13 September, 10:00-10:30 (all local time)
- Dr Andrzej Dmitriew – Saturday 13 September, 14:00-14:30
- Dr Fernando Silva – Sunday 14 September, 10:00-10:30
In addition, Dr Luis Real will host three phaco chopping technique workshops at the Rayner booth over the congress weekend.
Rayner said these interactive sessions would be ideal for residents, fellows and young surgeons, offering innovative approaches and practical tips to enhance operating confidence and precision:
- Friday 12 September, 14:00-15:00
- Sunday 14 September, 15:00-16:00
- Monday 15 September, 10:00-11:00
A key highlight of the ESCRS congress will be Rayner’s lunchtime symposium, titled The Galaxy Era: Redefining Outcomes with AI Spiral Optics, taking place on Sunday from 13:00-14:00 in Room D2.
Moderated by Dr Ben LaHood, the symposium will feature leading international surgeons presenting new long-term clinical data on the Galaxy IOL, discussing complex cases – including post-LASIK patients – and exploring how digital tools can elevate the patient journey.
Galaxy’s real-world performance versus other advanced technology IOLs will also be shared.
Rayner said that, whether you’re seeking a hands-on experience, expert guidance, or the latest clinical data, its presence at ESCRS 2025 reflected its commitment to innovation, education, and excellence in cataract and refractive surgery.
