Brazilian fashion influencer Mr Adair Mendes Dutra Junior has died after previously complaining about severe complications from “fox eyes” surgery.
Media reports said the 31-year-old had the surgery, a cosmetic procedure to lift and elongate the outer corners of the eyes to get an exotic cat-like look.
Following the surgery, Junior told media that he developed a serious facial infection, with symptoms like swelling, bruising, and shortness of breath.
Friend Mr Gean Souza told Brazilian magazine Quem that after experiencing an infection, Junior “became ill, felt very short of breath, and was taken to the nearest emergency room at a public hospital” on October 3.
Meanwhile, the doctor’s lawyer released a statement denying any “connection” to the death.
