Eyetalk has unveiled LocalEyez, a dedicated online platform designed to connect Australian consumers with their nearest independent optometrists.
Accessible at localeyez.lookbookau.com.au, the new initiative aims to enhance visibility for independent practices and streamline the process for patients seeking personalised eyecare services.
The platform – still in its early phases with many more practice listings expected soon – allows users to search for local practices based on their location, providing detailed profiles that includes direct contact information.

“Our goal with LocalEyez is to bridge the gap between consumers and independent eyecare providers,” said Ms Amanda Trotman, CEO of the Optical Distributors and Manufacturers Association (ODMA), which owns the Eyetalk business and LookBook brand.
“We believe that personalised care leads to better patient outcomes, and LocalEyez is our way of supporting the professionals who deliver that level of service.”
LocalEyez is integrated with the Eyetalk LookBook, Eyetalk’s consumer-facing platform that promotes eyewear trends and eye health education. This integration allows users to not only find an optometrist but also explore the latest in eyewear fashion and learn about maintaining optimal eye health.
For consumers, LocalEyez is said to offer a user-friendly tool to find trusted eyecare providers who offer personalised services tailored to individual needs. For practitioners, it’s designed to serve as a valuable marketing resource that drives patient engagement and practice growth.
