Science met art on 14 May when ZEISS hosted the Capture with CLARUS ‘WOW’ photo gallery exhibition, a celebration of diagnostic imaging as both a medical tool and a visual spectacle, at Sydney’s Stanley Street Gallery.
A media release from ZEISS said the event featured 12 fundus images of chronic eye diseases, each captured using ZEISS CLARUS technology.
These winning entries were selected from submissions received in February and March 2025, with a distinguished panel of judges – Dr Jennifer Arnold, Ms Mara Giribaldi, and Mr Michael Yapp – tasked with choosing the most compelling and visually striking works.
The release said the result was a collection that not only demonstrated the precision of modern ophthalmology but also revealed the unexpected beauty hidden within the human eye.
Dr John Chang, from Eastwood Eye Specialists, received the best overall photo award for his ultrawide field view of a branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) with neovascularisation, treated with sector retinal laser photocoagulation and further enhanced with an OCT angiography overlay.
