Optometrists looking for support services for their patients who have been diagnosed with a vision impairment are invited to learn more about the services Eyes For Life Canberra offers.
Eyes For Life Canberra is an initiative of Canberra Blind Society, a not-for-profit charity that has been running for over 65 years and provides information, services and assistance to people who are blind or have a vision impairment in Canberra and the local region.
Eyes For Life Canberra’s mission is to work with individuals with a vision impairment, identify what issues and barriers they are experiencing and develop strategies to enable them to maintain their independence and fully participate in everyday life.
“We offer clients the opportunity to discuss their condition, ask questions and receive guidance on what to do next,” the organisation said.
“This helps the client to understand more about their condition and find out what can help them.”
Additionally, Eyes For Life Canberra sells low vision aids such as magnifiers, talking products and lighting solutions for any environment.
It also hosts professional development presentations with research updates that offer CPD hours to members of Optometry Australia.
Updates are available at the Eyes For Life Canberra website and @EyesForLifeCanberra on Facebook and LinkedIn.
